FoodSaver T03-0006-01 Regular-Mouth Jar Sealer Review

We bought this FoodSaver Regular-Mouth Jar Sealer for sealing Mason Jars with our FoodSaver V3835 Vacuum Food Sealer with SmartSeal Technology. This works very well and is easy to use with just a little practice. This is plastic with an embedded rubber ring that fits over the threads of the jar and a hole in the top that acts as a port for the vacuum hose attachment. It just takes a few seconds to get the jar sealed after you start.

Some reviewers have mentioned issues with keeping a strong vacuum and have posted tips that have helped. I find that the following works for me:

* Make sure the glass rim of the jar is clean and dry
* Make sure the Mason Jar lid rim is clean and dry
* Do not us the Mason Jar Lid Ring when sealing (I tried it :-)
* Disconnect the hose quickly from the sealer when done

I was also surprised that my Actron CP7830 Hand Vacuum Pump does work on this as well.

This works pretty much as expected and is easy to use once you get some practice.

Recommended! Oh and besides storing food in the jars, this could also be used for science projects as well.

For those who cook large quantities of food for storage, FoodSaver vacuum packaging systems offer excellent protection against food spoilage and freezer burn. This jar sealer attachment fits on pint- and quart-sized Mason jars and is for use with any FoodSaver machine that has an accessory port. The lid forms a tight seal on Mason jars while tubing (sold separately) inserts through the top and removes air from the jar with the help of a FoodSaver machine. The jar sealer works equally as well in packaging liquid foods, such as jams, sauces, or mustard, as it does for dry goods, such as brown sugar or spices.
